Schaeffler said the certifications reinforce customer confidence in locally manufactured bearing solutions and align with the country’s evolving quality framework.

Schaeffler India has become the first company in the Indian bearings industry to secure a Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) licence for Cylindrical Roller Bearings (CRB) under the new Indian standard, strengthening its position in the country’s industrial and automotive manufacturing ecosystem.

The motion technology company said its manufacturing facilities in Maneja and Savli, Gujarat, have received a BIS licence for cylindrical roller bearings. Both plants have also been awarded BIS certification for Deep Groove Ball Bearings (DGBB).

The certification comes as India continues to tighten quality control norms across industrial products to promote higher manufacturing standards and increase the competitiveness of locally produced components.

“This milestone reflects Schaeffler India’s unwavering commitment to quality, operational excellence, and customer trust. Being the first company to secure the BIS licence for Cylindrical Roller Bearings under the new standard is a proud achievement for our teams and demonstrates our readiness to meet evolving regulatory and industry requirements,” said Harsha Kadam, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Schaeffler India.

Schaeffler said the certifications reinforce customer confidence in locally manufactured bearing solutions and align with the country’s evolving quality framework. The company supplies bearing and motion technology solutions across automotive and industrial applications.

The achievement is expected to strengthen Schaeffler India’s role as a technology partner to OEMs and industrial customers while advancing quality standards in domestic manufacturing.
