Automotive industry Marelli is set to showcase a new range of automotive lighting technologies at Auto China 2026 in Beijing from April 24 to May 3, highlighting how vehicle lighting is evolving alongside software-defined vehicle architectures.
The technologies to be showcased reflect a broader shift in the auto industry, where lighting systems are increasingly being designed not just for illumination, but also for communication, safety, and vehicle-user interaction.
“In future vehicle generations, lighting will drive intelligent interaction and further enhance brand identity,” said Frank Huber, President of Marelli’s Lighting business.Among the technologies on display is a full-width headlamp design that integrates lighting functions with touch and voice-based controls.
Rear lighting systems being showcased include digital surfaces capable of displaying animations and signals, pointing to growing interest in vehicle-to-environment communication features.
The Japanese automaker will also showcase its h-Digi MicroLED headlamp platform, offering 25K and 40K pixel configurations for high-resolution adaptive lighting and road projection. The scalable platform is aimed at improving nighttime visibility while offering automakers flexibility across vehicle segments.
