Electric mobility platform Bijliride on Monday partnered with Indofast Energy, a joint venture between IndianOil Corporation and SUN Mobility, to accelerate its B2C expansion by addressing infrastructure challenges in electric vehicle rentals.The partnership will leverage Indofast Energy’s battery swapping network of over 1,484 swap stations across 23 cities, which supports more than 3.5 million battery swaps per month, according to the companies.Through the integration, Bijliride users will be able to swap depleted batteries within minutes, enabling faster turnaround times and improving vehicle availability for customers. The companies said the collaboration aims to reduce charging downtime and enhance rider convenience, particularly during peak demand hours.Hyderabad will be the first market for the rollout, with Bijliride planning to expand into Bengaluru, Pune and Chennai over the next 12 to 18 months.
“Our partnership with Indofast Energy is centered on making electric mobility more practical and accessible. By reducing downtime and improving availability, we are delivering a more reliable experience while accelerating our B2C growth,” said Shivam Sisodiya, CEO and Co-Founder, Bijliride.
Bijliride said it plans to deploy several hundred electric two-wheelers in the initial phase, with fleet expansion expected to align with market demand.
The company expects the battery swapping integration to improve fleet utilisation, enhance operational efficiency and strengthen unit economics by enabling higher uptime and quicker vehicle turnaround.
Customers will be able to access the service through the Bijliride app, which offers daily and weekly rentals, subscription plans for gig workers, and long-term rental options to provide ownership-free mobility solutions.
