Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) on Friday concluded the third edition of Vyapar Delhi and the 22nd Vyapar Conclave, bringing together policymakers, automobile dealers and industry leaders to chart a roadmap for sustainable and inclusive mobility in the national capital.Held at Le Méridien, the conclave themed “Vyapar Delhi – Badalti Dilli” saw participation from over 200 stakeholders, including OEMs, financial institutions and domain experts, focusing on the future of automotive retail and mobility in Delhi-NCR.The event was attended by Rekha Gupta, Chief Minister of Delhi, who highlighted the role of the auto retail sector in economic growth, employment and the transition to cleaner mobility. She said the government is pushing a comprehensive electric vehicle policy with ₹4,000 crore in support over four years to drive adoption through subsidies, tax waivers and scrappage incentives.Policy discussions at the conclave covered key issues such as the draft Delhi EV policy, vehicle scrappage framework, MCD classification of workshops and the pending compensation cess matter. A dedicated technical session also addressed legal clarity on compensation cess.A panel discussion on “Badalti Dilli: Reimagining Passenger Mobility” featured participation from leading automakers, including Volvo Car India, Honda Cars India, BYD India and Nissan Motor India, focusing on electrification trends, evolving consumer demand and the role of dealerships in enabling the transition.FADA President C. S. Vigneshwar said the transition to green mobility must be balanced and inclusive, ensuring that the livelihoods of thousands of workers in the auto retail ecosystem are protected alongside environmental goals.
Highlighting industry trends, FADA Delhi Chairperson Shailender Luthra said vehicle sales in Delhi grew 17 per cent as of March 2026, with annual registrations nearing 8 lakh units. The sector contributes around ₹7,150 crore annually to the city’s revenues and supports over 55,000 jobs across 550 dealership outlets.
He also noted a sharp rise in electric vehicle adoption, including a 62 per cent increase in electric two-wheelers, and proposed setting up 150 public charging stations along with skill development initiatives and a vehicle scrappage centre.
The conclave also featured sessions on AI-led dealership transformation, future-ready retail practices and road safety initiatives, including awareness campaigns on helmet and seatbelt use and CPR training.
FADA said the event reaffirmed its role in supporting policy development, strengthening road safety and enabling a smooth transition to a cleaner and more efficient mobility ecosystem in Delhi.
