Ralf Schumacher became a grand prix winner today in 2001
25 years ago today Ralf Schumacher scored his first F1 victory, at Imola. It was also Williams’ first win for four seasons and Michelin’s first for 17 years.
Born on this day in 1922: Graham Whitehead, one half of the first pair of brothers to compete in the world championship. He made a single start in the 1952 British Grand Prix and finished two places behind older brother Peter.
70 years ago today Juan Manuel Fangio won the non-championship Syracuse GP as Ferrari dominated. Team mate Luigi Musso finished 0.2s behind in second. “Just at this moment, Fangio is in need of money, he must win,” said Musso.
