New Delhi: Electric vehicle manufacturer Zelio E-Mobility has commissioned a new manufacturing facility in Cuttack, Odisha, expanding its production footprint in eastern India and taking its total installed capacity to 1.8 lakh units per annum. The company said the new plant will focus exclusively on electric two-wheelers and has been set up with an investment of under ₹3 crore. The facility is now operational and is expected to start contributing to revenues immediately.
With the commissioning of the Odisha unit, Zelio’s total installed production capacity has risen from 72,000 units per annum earlier to 1,80,000 units per annum. The company’s existing manufacturing facility at Hisar, Haryana, has also undergone process-level optimisation, including the installation of an extended conveyor belt and additional machinery, increasing its capacity from 72,000 units per annum to 1,20,000 units per annum. The Cuttack facility adds an additional 60,000 units per annum.
The move comes amid strong growth in Odisha and West Bengal, which have emerged as key markets for the company. Locating the plant closer to its customer base is expected to reduce delivery timelines — currently around a week when shipped from Hisar — lower logistics costs and improve supply efficiency.
Zelio said the new facility will also support its expansion into southern India. The company expects the Odisha unit to contribute a significant share of overall revenues by FY26–FY27, driven by rising EV adoption across eastern and southern markets.
Kunal Arya, Managing Director of Zelio E-Mobility, said the Cuttack plant would strengthen the company’s ability to serve riders and dealers with faster deliveries and improved service support. The facility is expected to generate employment for around 60 to 100 people across production and operations. The company is also in discussions with the Odisha government regarding potential incentives and support programmes. The expansion follows Zelio’s reported consolidated revenue of ₹134.78 crore and net profit of ₹11.87 crore in H1 FY26. Earlier this year, the company completed an SME IPO of ₹78.34 crore, with ₹36 crore of unutilised proceeds earmarked for capacity expansion and new facilities.
