A woman employee at a Maruti Suzuki dealership in Chhattisgarh’s Bhilai allegedly threw ink at a senior executive and slapped him after accusing him of sending obscene messages and making inappropriate remarks, reported Dainik Bhaskar.

The incident occurred on May 22 at Chauhan Automobiles, a Maruti Suzuki dealership in Bhilai, Durg district. A video of the confrontation, which surfaced on social media, showed police officials entering the showroom along with the accused General Manager, following a complaint filed by the woman employee.

As the executive entered the premises, the woman allegedly confronted him, threw ink on his face and slapped him while police personnel attempted to intervene.

The complainant, reportedly, submitted a written complaint alleging repeated harassment and inappropriate messages from the senior executive.

Police officials said additional women employees later approached authorities with similar complaints against the executive. The matter is currently under investigation by senior officers.

Bhilai Nagar CSP Satyaprakash Tiwari told media outlets that the police are probing the allegations due to the seriousness of the case.

The incident comes amid growing scrutiny of workplace harassment cases across sectors. Earlier this month, a woman intern in Delhi alleged harassment by the CEO of a private company, claiming she received repeated late-night calls and faced inappropriate behaviour during her internship, according to police statements cited in media reports.
