Formula 1’s new regulations for 2026 has given this year’s field a fresh new look – as has the arrival of two new names.
While there were concerns the tough new weight limit for this year would result in less colourful liveries, that appears to have been avoided by a new rule requiring teams to paint or apply stickers to a minimum area of their cars.
Of course, the most important aspect of the 11 new cars the teams have revealed in the past weeks is how quick each one of them will be. While that remains to be seen, there is one point we can judge: which one looks the best, and which is the least impressive.
Make your pick of this year’s cars and compare them to all your past winners below.
McLaren

The reigning world champions have stuck with their now familiar combination of papaya and black, though the sheer number of sponsors McLaren cram onto the car these days means there are a few other colours too.
Mercedes

Mercedes have produced an updated version of their colour scheme mixing silver, black and the turquoise of their title sponsor.

Red Bull

Red Bull have reverted from their matte colour scheme of recent years to a bright blue, partly due to the arrival of Ford, which is assisting with power unit development.
Ferrari

The blue of Ferrari’s title sponsor is not a natural fit for their classic red colour scheme, so Ferrari have incorporated more white this year in an effort to combine them more successfully.

Williams

Williams have adopted a paler blue hue after bringing in several new sponsors during the off-season.
Racing Bulls

Another team which has added more blue to its colour scheme, making Racing Bulls look like a ‘white Red Bull’.

Aston Martin

Blue is also in vogue at Aston Martin, where it appears on the rear wing of the tightly sculpted AMR26.
Haas

Haas’s tie-up with Toyota has led the American-owned team to adopt a design more fitting of the Japanese manufacturer.

Audi

The garish green of Sauber has been replaced by the more sober silver of Audi, though with a bright fluorescent flash alongside a distinctive sidepod design.
Alpine

Alpine should stand out among their increasingly blue rivals having introduced more pink to their colour scheme this year.

Cadillac

Newcomers Cadillac are sporting a split livery, largely white down one side and black on the other.
