A woman tries out the new Mercedes G-Wagon EV, and she’s in love with the G Turn feature. Here’s what else stands out to her about the vehicle.

TikTok user Jasmine Luv (@itsjasmineluv) posted a video with her review of the electric G-Wagon earlier this week. “Y’all, we got a good one,” she says to open the video. “Mercedes just dropped off their 2025 G-580. And what’s my favorite feature, you ask? The G Turn. This thing will have you spinning like you hit a banana in Mario Kart.”

She continues, “This is the first-ever electric G-Wagon. And when you get inside it just smells like money and high car payments. They may have changed this to electric, but one thing they didn’t change is that luxury feel when you get inside. Got me feeling like a parent during tax season with a few dependents.”

What Is the G-Turn?

The G 580 is equipped with a featured Mercedes called G-Turn. That means that the vehicle can complete two vehicle turns in a split second. That’s useful to consumers who buy G-Wagon for off-roading purposes. Here’s another demonstration of the feature done last year in Last Vegas.

As Kelly Blue Book explains, the G-580 is able to achieve this feat by using the four electric motors that power each wheel. Mercedes warns drivers that G-Turn shouldn’t be used on public roads, as it would obviously present a safety hazard. Others are concerned about how the power could potentially be harmful to nature in those off-road scenarios.

What Other EV G-Wagon Features Does She Luv?

Luv shows off the interior of the G-Wagon next. “We have the seat adjusters on the door,” she says. “You can keep your drinks cold or hot. You have adjustable air vents, eight different seat massagers, and more ambient lighting choices than your man’s excuses.”

And that’s not all. “Speaking of ambient lighting,” she says. “I’m just convinced Mercedes is the best in the game with this. You even get an illuminated grill and a glowing logo on the ground that says ‘Stronger than Time.’ Which makes sense because you’re going to need to be stronger than time and Ronnie Coleman just to close this door.”

What about the backseat? “Eh, it has decent space,” she says. “You’re also able to control the temperature. You have three chargers, heated back row seats, and cup holders. OK, not too shabby. And the trunk is pretty spacious.”

Now Trending

She asks, “I wanna know, with this being the first-ever EV G-Wagon, is this something you would drive?”

Luv doesn’t have to think hard to know what her decision on the EV G-Wagon will be. “Now, me personally, I was hyped because I’m a big G-Wagon fan,” she says to end the video. “But this one right here? This is priced at $178,000. So, uh, yeah, I’ll be enjoying it until Mercedes picks up the keys next week.”

Viewers React to the EV G-Wagon

In the comments section, viewers expressed a similar tension: They love the look of the G-580 but not the price tag that comes along with it.

“Money and high car payments,” laughed one user.

“I’ll get that car once I’ve won the lottery,” joked a second.

“$178,000??? It needs a bit more for that price because China’s cars are sooo much better for half the price.”

The G 580 with EQ Technology

Introduced this year, the G 580 with EQ Technology features four electric motors, a 116-kWh lithium ion battery, 579 horsepower, independent front suspension, an offroad cockpit and transparent hood with 360-degree camera and a dual circuit hydraulic braking system. It has 9.8 inches of ground clearance and up to 35 degrees of lateral stability, and it is capable of scaling at 100% grade with a maximum fording depth of 33.5 inches.

Car and Driver called it a “performance powerhouse” in line with its gas-powered alternatives. However, the outlet does note that the luxurious (and expensive) Edition One trim level that Luv experienced is the company’s lone offering at this point. It starts at $162,650.
