Yuki Tsunoda has been given a penalty point on his licence for the third race in a row at the British Grand Prix.
The Red Bull driver received a 10-second time penalty plus an endorsement point on his licence for colliding with Oliver Bearman during the British Grand Prix.
The stewards said they reduced Tsunoda’s penalty due to the challenging mixed weather conditions during the race.
“Car 87 [Bearman] was overtaking car 22 [Tsunoda] at turn six on the outside,” the stewards noted. “Car 87 was well ahead of car 22 at the apex. Car 87 clearly had its front axle ahead of the front axle of car 22 at the apex and was driven in a controlled manner. Car 87 therefore had the right to the corner.
“Car 22 had a slight snap of oversteer and that resulted in a collision with car 87. Car 87 then spun at the exit of turn six and had to leave the track and rejoin after turn seven. We therefore imposed a 10 second time penalty on car 22 for causing a collision. We however, took note of the tricky conditions on track and imposed one penalty point.”
Tsunoda was penalised in Canada for overtaking Oscar Piastri under red flag conditions and in Austria for colliding with Franco Colapinto.
