PLANO, Texas (Jan. 30, 2026) — Toyota is conducting a safety recall involving certain model year 2021-2023 Supra vehicles. Approximately 800 vehicles are involved in this recall in the U.S.

This safety recall involves the engine starter. According to BMW, due to unexpected wear on an internal component, the starter may not function properly. In some cases, this could lead to a non-starting engine. In an extreme case, this could cause a thermal event or fire when attempting to start the engine or while the engine is running.

For all involved vehicles, Toyota dealers will replace the starter with an improved one at no cost to customers. Owners are advised to not leave the vehicle unattended with the engine running, which includes the use of the remote start function.

Owners of involved vehicles will be notified by late-March 2026.

Information about automotive recalls, including but not limited to the list of involved vehicles, is current as of today’s filing date and is subject to change thereafter. To see if your vehicle is involved in a safety recall visit Toyota.com/recall or nhtsa.gov/recalls and enter your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) or license plate information.

For any additional questions, Toyota customer support is also available by calling the Toyota Brand Engagement Center (1-800-331-4331).
