ThunderPlus, a Telangana-based manufacturer of electric vehicle (EV) chargers, on Wednesday said it has entered into a strategic partnership with Indofast Energy to establish combined EV charging and battery-swapping hubs across India. The collaboration will begin with deployments in Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Delhi NCR, with plans to expand to over 250 locations.
According to the official press release, in the initial phase, Indofast Energy will install its battery-swapping stations within ThunderPlus charging hubs. The company will use the existing space and power infrastructure at these sites.
It said that the hubs will offer a single location for energy services for two-wheelers, three-wheelers and commercial fleets.
According to Rajeev YSR, executive director and CEO of ThunderPlus, India does not need parallel EV solutions, it needs integrated energy ecosystems.
“Partnering with Indofast Energy allows us to seamlessly integrate fast charging with battery swapping across our national network. Starting with Hyderabad and scaling across 250-plus locations, this partnership significantly improves convenience, uptime, and choice for EV users and fleet operators,” he added.
Anant Badjatya, CEO of Indofast Energy, said, “This strategic collaboration with ThunderPlus is a powerful step in moving beyond the ‘charging versus swapping’ debate to build what customers truly need: A single, reliable destination for all their energy requirements”. “By co-locating our two-minute battery swaps within ThunderPlus’s charging hubs, we are maximising convenience and ensuring that EV drivers have the flexibility and choice they need to keep moving without interruption,” he added. The companies said that the partnership supports an emerging shift toward integrated and customer-focused EV infrastructure and aims to contribute to a scalable electric mobility network across India.
