In the passenger vehicle category, Tata Motors sold 37,083 units domestically in June, down 15 per cent YoY from 43,524 units in June 2024.

Tata Motors reported total domestic sales of 65,019 units in June 2025, a 12 per cent decline compared to 74,147 units sold in the same month last year. This was on account of continued market softness and subdued demand, which affected its passenger vehicle (PV) and commercial vehicle (CV) segments.
In the passenger vehicle category, Tata Motors sold 37,083 units domestically in June, down 15 per cent YoY from 43,524 units in June 2024. However, the company’s electric vehicle (EV) portfolio showed resilience, with 5,228 units (domestic and international) sold during the month, reflecting a 12 per cent growth YoY.
‘While overall PV volumes remained under pressure, the EV segment continued to gain momentum, supported by robust demand and recent product refreshes,’ said Shailesh Chandra, MD, Tata Motors PV and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility.
Commercial vehicle sales
In the commercial vehicle segment, Tata Motors posted domestic sales of 27,936 units, down 9 per cent YoY from 30,623 units in June 2024. The decline was seen primarily in heavy commercial vehicles (HCVs) and small commercial vehicles (SCVs). Nonetheless, the company recorded an 8 per cent month-on-month growth, signaling early signs of recovery.
‘Tata Motors’ international CV business grew 70per cent in June, and with the launch of the Ace Pro mini-truck and AC-equipped trucks, we are optimistic about volume recovery in the coming months,’ said Girish Wagh, executive director, Tata Motors.
Q1 FY26 sales
Tata Motors recorded total sales of 2,10,415 units in the first quarter of FY26 (Q1FY26), reflecting a 9 per cent YoY decline compared to 2,29,891 units in Q1FY25. The slowdown affected both passenger and commercial vehicle segments, though electric vehicle (EV) sales and international CV business proved to be resilient.
In the passenger vehicle (PV) category, Tata Motors sold 1,24,809 units, down 10 per cent from the same quarter last year. EV sales dipped by 2 per cent YoY to 16,231 units.
Despite the subdued industry sentiment in May and June, EVs gained traction toward the end of the quarter, driven by new model launches and consumer interest.
In the commercial vehicle (CV) segment, total sales stood at 85,606 units, a 6 per cent decline YoY. While domestic CV sales dropped 9 per cent to 79,572 units, international business grew by a robust 68 per cent.
