Tata Motors Ltd on Monday said its total sales, including domestic and international markets, rose marginally to 73,178 units in August 2025 from 71,693 units in the year-ago month. While domestic sales declined 2 per cent with 68,482 units in August 2025 as against 70,006 units in the same period last year.
CV sales
The company’s commercial vehicle (CV) sales climbed 10 per cent year-on-year to 29,863 units, driven by growth in medium and heavy trucks, intermediate and light commercial vehicles, and passenger carriers. Exports of CVs surged 77 per cent to 2,382 units, reflecting robust overseas demand, the company said in a statement.
PV sales
In the passenger vehicle (PV) segment, Tata Motors reported a 3 per cent decline at 43,315 units. Domestic PV sales dropped 7 per cent to 41,001 units, but international business volumes jumped over sevenfold to 2,314 units.
Electric vehicles (EVs) continued to be a bright spot, with combined domestic and international sales hitting a record 8,540 units, up 44 per cent from last year. The company said the growth underscores rising consumer confidence in green mobility and accelerating adoption of zero-emission.
