It’s more than three years since the Electric Skoda Vision 7S Concept was revealed as Skoda’s future EV design – and, effectively, a new electric Kodiaq with seven seats – and sitting at the top of Skoda’s EV range. Three years is an age in the current car climate, but Skoda is finally getting closer to delivering a production version and has announced the production version of the Vision 7S will be the Skoda Peaq, a Czech word meaning ‘Peak’ Skoda’s Martin Jahn said: With the Vision 7S, we entered new territory for Škoda, with a clear idea of how to elevate the brand. Since then, we have introduced a new design language and further refined our product identity. Now we are bringing this innovative vehicle concept to life. Our new flagship model takes our brand values of spaciousness and practicality to a whole new level. As of today, our bold vision for Škoda’s electric future has a name: Peaq – a clear statement of where this model belongs in our portfolio. Expected to sit on VW’s ubiquitous MEB Platform and arrive in the summer, we’d expect the Peaq to stay close to the Vision 7S Concept in terms of looks, although the 7S’s powertrain – 89kWh battery with range of 370 miles and 200kW charging – is likely to be improved on. In terms of price, expect the Peaq to start at something close to £50k.
