  • Signature Autosports’ special 911 includes upgraded bumpers and lights.
  • Buyers will be offered loads of customization options when they order.
  • New suspension boosts the car’s ride height and its off-road credentials.

Tired of Porsche 911s from Singer feeling too polished, too married to the pavement? Signature Autosports thinks it has an answer, and it calls it the Meridian 911.

Built as a modernized version of classic off-road-focused Porsche 911s from yesteryear, the Meridian 911 sits on aftermarket suspension that boosts the ride height and will make it much more capable off the beaten path. Fitted alongside the new suspension components are all-terrain tires.

The car hasn’t actually been built yet, and for now exists only in what appear to be at least partially AI-generated images, though it certainly has the potential to look rather good. The main exterior changes include new high-strength skid plates, beefier bumpers, and a large roof rack carrying four sizable off-road spotlights. Hood-mounted lamps show up in the preview too, adding to the rugged look.

Signature Autosports hasn’t forgotten about the powertrain. Cars like the recent Porsche 911 Dakar and Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato helped to reinvigorate interest in high-performance, low-slung off-roaders, so you wouldn’t want to get stuck in the middle of the desert with a decades-old Porsche powertrain in need of some spare parts.

Modern power comes from a 3.8-liter naturally aspirated flat-six with Pauter rods and heads, as well as 102 mm pistons and cylinders from Molly Motorsports. The mill also includes custom billet heads with CNC-ported valves, racing valve springs with titanium retainers, and billet valve covers. There’s also a carbon fiber engine shroud, carbon fiber intake, and independent throttle bodies.

Customization Options

According to the company, it will handle everything from powertrain engineering through to metal fabrication and the installation of custom electric systems and upholstery for the Meridian 911s that it builds. Presumably this means there will also be loads of customizations available to buyers, allowing them to create the off-roading 911 of their dreams.

Carscoops has reached out to Signature Autosports to see when they plan to start production of the Meridian 911 and just how much it will cost.
