The Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), in partnership with the Delhi Traffic Police, organised a road safety walk in the capital on Friday to promote awareness on responsible road behaviour among schoolchildren as part of National Road Safety Month.More than 1,200 students from schools across Delhi participated in the event held at the Delhi Traffic Police Training Park, Baba Kharak Singh Marg. Over 100 members from the Brahma Kumaris also joined the initiative aimed at sensitising young citizens about traffic rules, road discipline and safe commuting practices.The walk began at the training park, moved through the Connaught Place Circle and concluded at the starting point. The event was flagged off by Satyavir Katara, Additional Commissioner of Police, Delhi Traffic Police, along with Prashant K Banerjee, Executive Director, SIAM, and other officials.The programme was organised under SIAM’s ‘सुरक्षित सफर (Safe Journey)’ initiative, which focuses on road safety education with CSR support from automobile manufacturers.
SIAM, the apex body representing vehicle and engine manufacturers in India, has been actively involved in initiatives related to environmental improvement and user safety.
