Scania Commercial Vehicles India on Friday said it has appointed CK Birla Group‘s GMMCO Ltd, as its new authorised dealer partner for Northern, Eastern and Central India, marking a major milestone in its renewed growth strategy for the country.The partnership will see GMMCO handle sales and service support for Scania customers across these regions, while PPS Motors will continue representing the brand in Southern and Western India. The move completes Scania’s transition to a fully dealer-driven model aimed at improving national coverage, customer service and operational agility.“The appointment of GMMCO marks an important step in Scania’s India growth journey. GMMCO’s strong industry presence, wide service network and customer-first philosophy make them an ideal partner as we expand into new markets and business areas,” said Silvio Munhoz, Managing Director, Scania Commercial Vehicles India.

Wide focus across segments

Under its new strategy, Scania will focus on product planning, innovation and lead generation, while its dealer partners will independently manage sales, service, documentation, aftermarket operations and inventory. The decentralised approach is designed to enhance responsiveness and customer engagement through region-specific expertise.The collaboration also aligns with Scania’s global shift from product-based to solution-based sales, offering end-to-end transport packages that include customised product selection, service and maintenance, financing, and connected solutions.
