Sauber's 2025 Spanish Grand Prix livery

Sauber will run a different version of its livery for the second time this year at the Spanish Grand Prix.

While other teams have made bolder departures from their regular liveries this year, notably Racing Bulls’ pink car at the Miami Grand Prix, Sauber’s custom designs tend to be variations on a theme.

The team calls its latest look ‘Glitched Out’. Sauber has recreated its regular bright green and black livery in a pixelated style.

Drivers Nico Hulkenberg and Gabriel Bortoleto will wear new race suits to match the look and the team’s pit equipment has also been restyled to match Sauber’s special look for this weekend’s race.

Sauber previously ran another one-off version of its livery at the Miami Grand Prix earlier this month.

The team heads into this weekend’s race last in the championship standings. Its only points score came at the season-opening round in Melbourne where Hulkenberg finished seventh.

However it hopes to make a step forward in Spain as it will introduce an upgrade for its C45. The team intends its new package to take advantage of a change in aerodynamic regulations. The FIA will apply tougher front wing deflection tests from this weekend.

“Barcelona should give us a clear picture of how our new upgrade package will affect our competitiveness,” said team principal Jonathan Wheatley. “The team has been working hard back home in Hinwil and our focus is on getting familiar with the new parts with a view to putting ourselves in a more consistently competitive position heading into the next phase of the season.”
