Red Bull’s two Formula 1 teams are poised to announce their driver plans for the 2026 F1 season according to a Dutch media report.
Yuki Tsunoda is expected to lose his place at the top Red Bull team. He is already the third different team mate Max Verstappen has had in the last 12 months.
The next will be Isack Hadjar, who has impressed Red Bull’s management with his performances at their second-string team Racing Bulls this season.
Tsunoda and Hadjar began the year as team mates at Racing Bulls, before the Japanese driver was promoted to Red Bull in place of Liam Lawson at the third round. Since joining Red Bull, Tsunoda has scored just 30 points. He has been outscored by both Hadjar, with 51, and Lawson, who scored 38 points after returning to Racing Bulls.
Red Bull are expected to give Tsunoda the option of remaining with the team as a reserve driver. There are no other race seats available on the grid for next year as Red Bull has chosen to promote one of its Formula 2 drivers to the second seat at its junior team.
Arvid Lindblad will join Lawson at Racing Bulls next year. He has officially been part of their junior driver line-up since 2022. He spent two seasons in Formula 4, taking third in the Italian series in 2023, then quickly rose up the junior ladder. He finished fourth in Formula 3 last year and goes into this weekend’s F2 finale sixth in the standings.
Lindblad has already made two appearances in F1 practice sessions for Red Bull at the British and Mexican grands prix this year.
The team has not commented officially on the report. However during last weekend’s Qatar Grand Prix Hadjar indicated an announcement would be made before the final round of the championship this weekend.
