- Porsche and Audi EVs can recharge at roughly 23,500 Tesla Superchargers in North America.
- Access opens up tomorrow, but not all cars can join the party.
- What’s more, owners of compatible EVs need to install yet another app on their smartphones, albeit temporarily.
Owners of Audi and Porsche electric cars in the United States and Canada will gain access to the Tesla Supercharger network of DC fast chargers tomorrow. The move comes as more and more automakers have struck deals with Tesla to use its expansive network, which now has over 23,500 stalls open to non-Tesla EVs and over 35,000 stalls in total.
It’s good news for Porsche and Audi EV drivers stateside, but there are some caveats, at least at first. Both luxury German automakers said that they’re doing a “soft launch” of the service, which essentially means owners will have to jump through a few hoops to charge at Superchargers. The biggest thing owners need to be aware of right now is that neither Porsche nor Audi’s smartphone apps can be used to control charging sessions at Tesla’s DC fast chargers. Plug-and-charge is also not supported yet, so drivers will need to create a Tesla account and use the Tesla smartphone app to start and stop charging. This will change in the coming months, as Porsche and Audi are working to integrate Superchargers into their apps and enable plug-and-charge.
Except for one car, all EVs sold by the two companies are compatible with Tesla Superchargers. The exception is the Audi Q4 E-Tron, and there’s no word on when–or if–the entry-level EV will join the party.

Seeing how none of the EVs sold by Porsche and Audi in the U.S. come with a Tesla-style NACS charging port, a charging adapter will be needed at Superchargers. Both automakers are offering branded NACS to CCS adapters, with Porsche asking $185 for one, while Audi doesn’t have a timeline for when its adapter will be available for purchase.
That said, not everybody will need to buy an adapter. All new 2026 Porsche Taycan and Macan Electric models will come with a NACS DC charging adapter included. The same goes for new purchases of the 2025 Audi Q6 E-Tron, A6 Sportback E-Tron and E-Tron GT. In these cars, compatible Superchargers will show up in the built-in navigation system.
Meanwhile, 2025 Taycan and all existing Macan Electric owners are eligible for a free adapter. The 2024 and 2025 Macan Electric models will get a free software update that adds compatible Superchargers to the navigation map by the end of the year, while model year 2025 and earlier Taycan models will get a similar update after that.
