The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has rolled out the FASTag annual pass on August 15. It will use FASTag – the electronic toll collection system enabling free passage of private car/jeep/van at designated National Highways (NHs) and National Expressways (NEs) fee plazas for one year or 200 trips whichever is earlier. The annual pass can be activated on private vehicles after verifying the eligibility of the vehicle and the associated FASTag. Users are required to make a payment of ₹3,000 for the base year 2025–26 through the Rajmargyatra mobile application or NHAI website. Once the payment is confirmed, the FASTag annual pass gets activated on the registered FASTag normally within 2 hours. As mentioned above, trips on only national highways and expressways are covered under the FASTag annual pass. At fees plazas on Expressways, State Highways (SH), etc. managed by State Governments or local bodies, parkings etc the FASTag will operate as a regular FASTag, and applicable user fee charges may apply. Here’s a list of major expressways (but not limited to only these) that are excluded from the FASTag annual pass:
