New subway in Mahoba to ease daily commute for over thousand vehicles

Jhansi: The newly-constructed Limited Height Subway (LHS) will be opened for public use from Saturday noon on the occasion of Dhanteras.

Providing details, PRO NCR Jhansi Division, Manoj Kumar Singh, informed that the new subway at Km 1266/0-1, which runs parallel to the existing Subway No. 429 on a straight road alignment, will reduce the travel distance by nearly one kilometre for road users. Constructed at a cost of about ₹6.52 crore, the project will facilitate the safe and smooth movement of nearly one thousand vehicles on a daily basis.

The addition of this new route will provide two separate access options for local residents and travellers, ensuring uninterrupted vehicle movement and enhanced traffic flow.

It is expected to bring significant relief to the residents and commuters of the region.

Divisional Railway Manager Anirudh Kumar, said, “Jhansi Division is continuously striving for the development of the region and the enhancement of passenger amenities. The new Limited Height Subway at Mahoba fulfils a long-pending demand of the local residents and will significantly improve regional connectivity. Our goal is to continue implementing such projects that bring modern, safe, and convenient facilities to the public.”
