MegaCharge, the EV charging solutions arm of Mega Nirman & Industries Ltd, on Wednesday said it has partnered with National Highways for Electric Vehicles (NHEV) to deploy EV charging infrastructure across India’s 5,500 km e-highway network.Under the partnership, MegaCharge will deploy 660 charging points and will be responsible for installing and maintaining EV charging stations along key highway corridors.
According to a regulatory filing, the collaboration is aimed at strengthening long-distance electric mobility by building intercity charging infrastructure connecting major cities and economic hubs.
The NHEV initiative seeks to establish a fast-charging network to enable reliable and accessible EV travel across highways.
MegaCharge said it will leverage its capabilities in AC and DC fast chargers for the deployment.
“Highway charging infrastructure is the backbone of EV adoption and this collaboration allows us to contribute meaningfully to India’s clean mobility transition,” said Ankan Gupta, founder of MegaCharge.
The company said the initiative is aimed at accelerating EV adoption, reducing range anxiety, enabling intercity EV travel and supporting electrification goals.
