McLaren brought together 11 current and former Formula 1 drivers who won races for them as part of their 1,000th grand prix celebrations.
The group assembled on the starting line in Monaco today along with the team’s top management and Formula 1 CEO Stefano Domenicali.
Among them was Mika Hakkinen, the two-times world champion who won both his titles and scored all 20 of his grand prix victories for the team. He drove McLaren’s original F1 car, the M2B, in a demonstration run around the Monte Carlo track.
Current McLaren drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, who have won 20 races between them for the team, were also present. Their rivals Lewis Hamilton (21 wins for McLaren, now at Ferrari) and Fernando Alonso (four McLaren wins, now at Aston Martin) also attended.
