- Maserati is offering huge discounts for its electric cars.
- The Grecale Folgore electric SUV’s rebate could buy you a well-maintained used Tesla Model 3.
- However, the electric GranTurismo and GranCabrio’s discount is enough for a brand-new Model Y Premium All-Wheel Drive.
Maserati isn’t doing great, folks. Its global sales haven’t stopped falling this year, with the Italian brand recording a 32% drop in sales in the first half, followed by another 19% decrease in the third quarter.
Despite its pretty diversified lineup of cars, Maserati sold roughly 6,000 cars worldwide from January through September. That’s not enough, even by Italian luxury sports car maker standards, and the company knows it.
But there’s light at the end of the tunnel–for customers who are looking for a new electric Maserati, at least. That’s because the Stellantis-owned nameplate is taking out the big guns in an effort to get rid of inventory. According to a national dealer incentive bulletin seen by CarsDirect, Maserati is slashing up to $50,000 off the price of its electric models, which is enough to buy a brand-new Tesla Model Y Premium All-Wheel Drive.
The huge discount applies to the GranTurismo Folgore, which starts from a rather eye-watering $209,195, and also the GranCabrio Folgore, which has a starting price of $209,195. The two EVs are quite enjoyable to drive, but it’s no wonder that the automaker has had a rough time selling them after glancing at their price tags. With this massive discount, which amounts to almost 25% of the sticker price, the GranCabrio Folgore and GranTurismo Folgore suddenly sound like good deals.
Powered by an 800-volt 92.5-kilowatt-hour battery, the electric GranTurismo and GranCabrio deliver up to 751 horsepower. This enables the coupe version to sprint from zero to 60 miles per hour in 2.6 seconds and reach a top speed of 202 miles per hour. Range-wise, the hardtop is EPA-rated at 233 miles, while the open-top can drive up to 229 miles on a full charge.
If a battery-powered Italian luxury SUV is more to your taste, though, Maserati has you covered. The Grecale Folgore, the automaker’s first all-electric SUV, is now available with a $25,000 discount. Considering the car’s starting price is $119,900, the discount amounts to a little over 20%. This effectively lowers the price to $94,900, putting it in the same league with a comparable Porsche Macan 4S Electric.

The Grecale EV has two electric motors that deliver a total of 542 hp, and an EPA-rated range of up to 245 miles courtesy of a 105 kWh battery. Meanwhile, the Macan 4S Electric has 509 hp, a 100 kWh battery and a 288-mile EPA rating.
The discounts for the Grecale Folgore, GranTurismo Folgore and GranCabrio Folgore are available until the end of October for purchases and leases. In the SUV’s case, the price cut can be stacked with 5.49 APR financing for 72 months. Related Stories We want your opinion! What would you like to see on Insideevs.com? – The InsideEVs team
