The entry-level Leapmotor C10 Style arrives with a headline drive-away price-tag of just $47,500.

This launch drive-away price builds on the regular before-on-roads cost of $45,888, which is breaking new ground for an electric mid-size SUV, being roughly the same price as a mid-grade combustion SUV from many mainstream rivals.

Offering 420km of driving range from a 69.9kWh lithium-iron phosphate battery pack, the Leapmotor C10 drives the rear wheels via a 160kW/320Nm rear motor, regardless of trim level.

The base Style offers 18-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, a 10.25-inch digital dash cluster, a 14.6-inch central multimedia touchscreen (which does not offer Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, at least at launch), an always-online connectivity suite and built-in navigation, synthetic leather interior trim, a wireless phone charger, dual-zone climate control, a 360-degree parking camera, a 12-speaker audio system, and a panoramic sunroof with closing shade.

The C10 is offered in an array of five exterior colours and two interior colours. The front seats are electrically adjustable, and can fold completely flat for a ‘camping mode’ setting.

The boot measures 581 litres with all five seats up although there’s no spare wheel, just an inflator kit under the floor.

The C10 charges at a rate of 84kW on DC, or 6.6kW on AC and features vehicle-to-load although does not come with a V2L adapter.

It launches with a 12-strong dealer network via its Stellantis partner (which also backs Jeep and Alfa Romeo in Australia) and is covered by a seven-year/160,000km warranty, with the high-voltage components covered by an eight-year and 160,000km warranty.

Servicing costs $2000 for five years, and the C10 needs to see the shop every 12 months or 20,000km.
