New Delhi: Renewable energy company, KP Group, on Monday said it will invest ₹8,000 crore to set up a network of hydrogen and electric vehicle (EV) fuel stations across Gujarat, as part of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed with the Government of Gujarat during the first Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference for North Gujarat in Mehsana.According to the agreement, the Government of Gujarat will assist KP Group in obtaining necessary approvals and clearances under the state’s existing policies and regulatory framework. The project, expected to begin in 2026, will create around 1,000 employment opportunities across the state.“At KP Group, we have always believed in contributing to a cleaner, greener, and more self-reliant Gujarat. We are rapidly scaling our renewable energy capacity, but we also want to grow in emerging areas like hydrogen and EV,” said Faruk G Patel, Chairman and Managing Director of KP Group.The MoU was signed by Affan Patel, Director, KP Group, and Bhakti Shamal, Joint Secretary, Energy and Petrochemicals Department, in the presence of Chief Minister Bhupendra Bhai Patel, Finance Minister Kanubhai Desai, and Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy Prahlad Joshi.

“This MoU for setting up hydrogen and EV fuel stations across the state reflects our commitment to building sustainable infrastructure that accelerates the transition to clean mobility. We are proud to partner with the Government of Gujarat in shaping the state’s future as India’s clean energy leader,” he added.

The initiative aligns with the state’s “Viksit Gujarat to Viksit Bharat” vision and aims to support India’s clean energy transition by expanding green mobility infrastructure.

Earlier, at the 10th Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit held in Gandhinagar, KP Group had signed MoUs worth ₹17,790 crore with the state government. These included ₹16,690 crore for 2,675 MW of wind, solar, and hybrid power projects across multiple locations, and ₹1,000 crore for setting up a green hydrogen plant.
