JSW MG Motor India on Friday said it has installed 1,000 EV chargers across more than 470 locations in India, expanding charging infrastructure as electric vehicle adoption gathers pace in the country.
The charging points have been deployed at residential societies, hospitals, educational campuses, hotels, industrial parks and other community locations under the company’s charging network initiative.
The automaker also said its electric vehicles have cumulatively covered more than 290 crore kilometres on Indian roads, which it estimates has helped avoid around 4.17 lakh metric tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions.
Separately, the company said it plans to introduce three new energy vehicles (NEVs) in calendar year 2026, including models equipped with plug-in hybrid technology.
At its manufacturing facility in Halol, Gujarat, the company said renewable sources account for nearly 95 per cent of total power consumption, while more than 78 per cent of the energy used at the plant comes from renewable sources.
The company added that water consumption at the facility has been reduced by 23 per cent through recycling and process optimisation measures.
