Collector Ayush Prasad, in order to prevent traffic congestion on the Yeola-Manmad-Malegaon route, on Tuesday issued a notification to curb movement of heavy traffic on the Gavandgaon toll plaza from March 24.

On the directions of the Aurangabad bench of the Bombay HC heavy traffic moving from Sambhajinagar toward Dhule via the Autram Ghat (Kannad route) has been banned owing to which the traffic has been diverted from Sambhajinagar through Daulatabad T-Point, Devgaon Rangari, Shiur and Pimparkhed to Malegaon.Further, a few more alternative roads which the heavy vehicles were using to travel from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar towards Dhule have also been closed. Ambulances, police vehicles, fire tenders and state transport buses will be exempted from the restrictionThe public works department (PWD) and National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) have been instructed to put up necessary signboards.
