Gabriel India appoints Prabhu Lakshmi Pathy as Senior VP, Chief Manufacturing and Quality Officer

Auto components maker Gabriel India has announced key changes in its senior management, appointing Prabhu Lakshmi Pathy as Senior-Vice President and Chief Manufacturing and Quality Officer with effect from June 1, 2026.

The company has also redesignated R Vasudevan from Chief Marketing Officer to President and Chief Commercial Officer with effect from May 27, 2026, according to a regulatory filing.

Pathy brings more than three decades of experience in the automotive sector and is currently associated with ANAND Automotive. He has previously held leadership positions at Hanon Automotive Systems, including Managing Director and Vice President, where he oversaw operations across India with a focus on operational excellence and plant performance.

A mechanical engineering graduate from Madras University with an MBA in Marketing from IGNOU, Pathy has also worked with companies such as Rane Madras, Sumi Motherson and EL Forge. The filing noted that he has led digital transformation initiatives, including Industry 4.0 adoption, and worked on sustainability and energy efficiency programmes.

Meanwhile, Vasudevan, who has over 30 years of experience in the automotive and manufacturing industry, has been leading key portfolios at Gabriel India, including COO for Passenger Cars and Commercial Vehicles. Prior to joining Gabriel India, he served as Vice President and Head of Operations at MAHLE and held leadership roles at Mando and Rane TRW.

The company said Vasudevan has played a key role in driving operational excellence, business growth and technology-led transformation initiatives, including AI/ML and IoT implementation across multi-location operations.
