China’s industry ministry and market regulator on Thursday summoned ‌carmakers ⁠suspected of engaging ⁠in “irrational” competition to a meeting, an official statement showed.

The ministry and ⁠regulator asked ‌the companies to ⁠strengthen compliance regarding pricing, enhance product quality control, protect consumers’ rights and interests and safeguard healthy competition, ‌according to the statement.

The statement did ⁠not name any automaker.
