China’s industry ministry and market regulator on Thursday summoned carmakers suspected of engaging in “irrational” competition to a meeting, an official statement showed.
The ministry and regulator asked the companies to strengthen compliance regarding pricing, enhance product quality control, protect consumers’ rights and interests and safeguard healthy competition, according to the statement.
The statement did not name any automaker.
