This session has finished. No further updates will be posted.

That’s the third pole position of 2025 for Max Verstappen! Here’s our report on the session and the grid as it stands.

Antonelli takes third and knocks Piastri down to fourth. Russell takes fifth.

Piastri can’t beat him either, it looks like Verstappen’s pole position.

Verstappen does a 1’26.204, Norris is fastest in the middle sector but falls short of Verstappen by six hundredths of a second.

A slight error for Verstappen in the first corner as he begin his lap. Tsunoda goes fifth.

Antonelli is two-tenths of a second off in fourth place. Russell went wide in turn 17 and ended up sixth behind Albon.

Piastri falls short by just 0.017 seconds. He’s quite a bit slower than he went in Q2. Norris then splits them – just three thousandths of a second in it!

Tsunoda’s first lap time is slower than Ocon’s. Verstappen makes a good start to his lap and goes top, 1’26.492.

Q2 is over and the following drivers are eliminated: Isack Hadjar, Lewis Hamilton, Gabriel Bortoleto, Jack Doohan and Liam Lawson.

Hamilton is out.

Hamilton only 11th and he may well be out. Russell’s in though, and that eliminates Hadjar.

More good news for Tsunoda as Hadjar goes 10th, Hamilton falls into the bottom five.

Ocon goes ninth, Tsunoda breathes a sigh of relief, just 0.008s between them.

Tsunoda makes an early start as he bids to reach Q3. He produces a 1’26.959 which puts him only eighth.

Williams had a disappointing start to the day after Albon lost his fourth place in the sprint race but they’re looking strong now, fifth and sixth in Q2.

Antonelli’s track record lap of 1’26.482 from yesterday has already been beaten by Piastri, by two tenths of a second.

Currently in the drop zone: George Russell, Esteban Ocon, Jack Doohan, Liam Lawson and Isack Hadjar. Russell is complaining about a lack of grip.

Now McLaren show what they can do: Piastri bangs in a 1’26.269, that puts him two-tenths clear of Norris. Antonelli then beats Verstappen for third place.

Verstappen produces a 1’26.643, Leclerc is three-tenths off that in second. Tsunoda is half a second off his team mate.

Q2 has begun and Verstappen is immediately on it once more.

Q1 is over and the following drivers are eliminated: Nico Hulkenberg, Fernando Alonso, Pierre Gasly, Lance Stroll and Oliver Bearman.

Stroll has abandoned his last run so he’s out.

Norris reports he clipped the wall at turn 16.

Hamilton goes eight, Bortoleto up to 10th which is great for the Sauber driver.

Norris improvs to second. Ocon has gone 13th so he has a chance to get through.

Leclerc can only manage ninth which will be a worry for them. Hamilton, 16th, is about to start a crucial lap to escape Q1.

Russell moves up from ninth to third with a minute to go. Bearman goes 19th so he’s out in Q1.

Currently in the drop zone: Esteban Ocon, Fernando Alonso, Pierre Gasly, Lance Stroll and Oliver Bearman.

Max Verstappen sets a new benchmark with a 1’26.870 which puts him 0.136s ahead of Piastri, who just went second.

Andrea Kimi Antonelli puts up the quickest time so far with a 1’27.077 and is just 0.021s ahead of Sainz.

Carlos Sainz Jnr takes over at the top with a 1’27.098 which puts him 0.209s ahead of Piastri.

A great effort by Isack Hadjar for second, 0.181s off Piastri.

Oscar Piastri sets the initial pace with a 1’27.307. Verstappen second ahead of Norris.

We had a lot of penalties after the sprint race so if you’re wondering what the final positions were and what it meant for the standings, here you go.

The track is much drier than before but the drivers are concerned about the potential of rain so they’re wasting no time in joining the track.
