The fourth edition of the Global Clean Mobility Summit put the spotlight on the Digital Twin Lab established by the Automobile Research Association of India (ARAI), a first-of-its-kind initiative supported by the Ministry of Heavy Industries. The lab, operating on a hub-and-spoke model, has its primary hub at ARAI in Pune, with strategic spokes at Micelio Discovery Studio, Bengaluru, and IIT Guwahati Tech Park.The Digital Twin Lab enables simulation-led development for electric vehicles, providing startups, MSMEs, and established OEMs with advanced tools to accelerate the design, validation, and deployment of EV technologies.Fully operational since June 2025, the lab offers modelling capabilities for key components, including battery packs, motors, and drivetrains, and features virtual validation environments simulating real-world conditions such as wear-and-tear, energy consumption, and thermal performance. “ARAI is proud to extend its digital twinning services from the western region to the eastern and southern parts of India. As India moves towards intelligent and sustainable mobility, we remain committed to empowering OEMs, startups, and automotive innovators with cutting-edge solutions,” said ARAI Director Reji MathaiThe Digital Twin Lab aligns with India’s broader policy frameworks, including Make in India, Atmanirbhar Bharat, and Digital Public Infrastructure, offering startups and MSMEs the ability to validate and refine designs without large capital investments.
