Flipkart launches EV marketplace for delivery partners, expands green mobility push

Flipkart, an e-commerce marketplace, on Friday introduced EV Assist, a digital marketplace aimed at improving access to electric two-wheelers, for delivery executives and supporting the electrification of its logistics operations.

According to the official press release, the platform is currently available to riders associated with Flipkart Minutes in over 20 cities and enables delivery executives to browse electric vehicle (EV) rental options based on location and budget preferences.

Users can compare vehicles across different weekly rental brackets and connect directly with mobility providers for onboarding and vehicle allocation.

“When millions of delivery partners have a simpler, more affordable route to electric vehicles, the impact is felt well beyond our own operations,” said Rajneesh Kumar, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, Flipkart Group.

The company said its electric vehicle fleet has more than doubled over the past year and crossed 20,000 vehicles during the 2025 festive season. The company has set a target of achieving 100 per cent electric mobility in its logistics operations by 2030.

According to a study conducted by Flipkart among more than 6,000 delivery partners, 46 per cent expressed willingness to switch to electric mobility, although financing access, charging infrastructure and concerns around the broader EV ecosystem remain key obstacles. The survey also found that nearly 90 per cent of respondents spend between ₹2,000 and ₹5,000 per month on petrol.

The EV Assist platform is designed to address some of these barriers by aggregating rental options from multiple mobility providers. Service and maintenance support will be handled by partner companies, reducing ownership-related responsibilities for delivery personnel.

The marketplace is available in English, Hindi, Bengali and Kannada and has seen early adoption in regions including Delhi-NCR, Patna and Bengaluru, according to the company.
