Alpine’s new Formula 1 car for the 2026 season has run for the first time at Silverstone.
Footage revealed the A526 lapping the home of the British Grand Prix in rainy conditions on Wednesday.
The A526 is the first car Alpine has produced since switching from Renault power to Mercedes. The car appeared in a similar livery to last year’s design.
Pierre Gasly was entrusted with putting the first laps on the team’s new car, Alpine confirmed. He and Franco Colapinto have remained as the team’s drivers for 2026.
Alpine is due to hold its official pre-season launch event on Friday.
The team will join its rivals for the start of pre-season testing at the Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona next week. The test will be held over five days and take place behind closed doors.
