Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) on Friday said it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Department of Vocational Education and Training (DVET) to benefit about 8,000 Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) students by enhancing their technical capabilities and improving employment prospects in the automotive sector.Under the partnership, TKM will establish fully equipped laboratories for light vehicle mechanic courses across 45 ITIs in the state. The company will also train faculty members at these centres as part of efforts to strengthen automotive skilling infrastructure.This is in line with the Maharashtra Department of Skill Development’s objective of delivering high-quality, employment-oriented industrial training and widening global job opportunities for the state’s youth.The MoU was signed in the presence of Mangal Prabhat Lodha, Minister of State for Skills, Employment, Entrepreneurship and Innovation. Vikram Gulati, Senior Vice President, Toyota Kirloskar Motor, and Madhavi Sardeshmukh, Director General, DVET, formalised the agreement.
