Isack Hadjar has admitted he is reluctant to go along with some of the demands Racing Bulls’ social media team has made of him.
The rookie driver said he turned down some of their requests because he didn’t feel comfortable going along with them.
Hadjar has been a member of Red Bull’s Junior Team since 2022 and earned promotion to their second Formula 1 team, Racing Bulls, this year. He has impressed over the season to date and scored his first podium finish at the Dutch Grand Prix in August.
However he isn’t interested in praise for his participation in Racing Bulls’ social media promotion. “It’s definitely not an achievement,” he told The Fast and the Curious. “It’s not what I came for in Formula 1.
“But as long as I’m successful, honestly, [that’s] all that matters, so I’m happy.”
Hadjar has been active on social media since he raced in go-karts and now has over a million followers across his accounts. He explained why he hasn’t always been willing to go along with Racing Bulls’ social media stunts.
“Sometimes, honestly, I’m just trusting my guys behind the camera because I have no clue what I’m doing,” he said. “It’s quite funny at times. But sometimes I was like ‘what the hell is going on, guys?’”

“Sometimes I’m refusing to do stuff because it’s too – it just doesn’t sound right,” he added.
Other F1 drivers, including some in the Red Bull camp, have expressed similar misgivings about their social media obligations. Max Verstappen reportedly declined to participate in some social media videos for Red Bull this year and the team has produced less material involving the world champion this year. “I wish social media never existed,” the Red Bull driver remarked two years ago.
