The Automotive Skills Development Council (ASDC) has announced the appointment of Vinkesh Gulati as its new President, following the stepping down of F R Singhvi. Gulati, who previously served as Vice-President of ASDC, assumes leadership at a time when the automotive industry is navigating a transition towards electric mobility, digitisation and future-ready skills.In his new role, Gulati is expected to drive efforts to bridge the skill gap in electric mobility, advanced manufacturing, digital retailing and aftermarket services. His appointment marks continuity in ASDC’s mission to align workforce training with the fast-changing demands of the auto industry.Gulati brings deep expertise in negotiation, business planning, sales, business development and strategic planning. A commerce graduate from Allahabad University, he has been closely associated with the dealer community and broader industry ecosystem for over 12 years.Gulati currently heads United Automobiles, which operates award-winning Mahindra and Bajaj Auto dealerships, and is Senior Vice-President of United Group, managing institutions in medical, engineering, pharmacy and management education. He also holds positions in the Mahindra Dealer Council, serves on the National Executive Body of FICCI, and has been the Treasurer at ASDC.As former President of the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) between 2020 and 2022, Gulati played a key role in strengthening industry-government dialogue and dealer representation. Known for his hands-on leadership, he has consistently championed the importance of skilling and talent development in the auto sector.
