The Indian auto industry reported largely stable wholesales in July 2025, with growth in the two- and three-wheeler segments offsetting a marginal decline in passenger vehicle sales, according to data from the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM).Passenger Vehicles
During the month, passenger vehicle wholesales stood at 3,40,772 units, down 0.2 per cent from 3,41,510 units in the same month last year.
“All vehicle segments posted stable performance in July 2025, though sentiments in the passenger vehicles segment have remained subdued so far,” said Rajesh Menon, Director General, SIAM.
Two-wheelersTwo-wheeler sales rose 8.7 per cent to 15,67,267 units last month, compared with 14,41,694 units in July 2024. “With the advent of the festive season beginning with Onam in late August, the industry remains cautiously optimistic about demand momentum picking up,” Menon added.
Three-wheelers
Three-wheeler sales grew 17.5 per cent year-on-year to 69,403 units in July 2025 from 59,073 units a year ago. No sales were reported for quadricycles.
