Rolls-Royce on Friday said it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT-B) to strengthen collaboration in research, innovation, and skill development.

According to the official press release, the partnership aims to foster knowledge exchange and joint research in areas of mutual interest, while also offering IIT-B students internship opportunities with Rolls-Royce’s defence engineering team in Bengaluru.

The MoU was signed by Sachin C Patwardhan, Dean R&D, IIT Bombay, and G S Selwyn, Executive Vice-President, Rolls-Royce India, in the presence of Alex Zino, Director – Business Development and Future Programmes, along with senior representatives from both sides.“This partnership reflects our commitment to building collaborations that advance innovation and talent development. It enables structured engagement between academia and industry to co-create future-ready solutions,” said Selwyn.The collaboration aligns with India’s drive for self-reliance in technology and aims to strengthen the country’s engineering ecosystem through applied research and industry exposure.
