PLANO, Texas (Aug. 28, 2025) – The 2026 Toyota Corolla Hatchback brings a fresh spark to everyday driving, delivering a fun and nimble ride that makes the daily commute something to look forward to. With its sharp handling and peppy performance, this hatchback adds a bit of excitement to getting around town or hitting the open road.

But it’s not just about fun — the Corolla Hatchback also carries Toyota’s well-earned reputation for quality and reliability, ensuring you can count on it to get you around town. It’s the perfect blend of confident driving and dependable practicality, ready to keep up with whatever your day throws at you.

Available in the SE, FX Edition and XSE – the 2026 Corolla Hatchback is equipped with a 2.0-liter Dynamic-Force direct-injection inline four-cylinder engine that delivers 169 horsepower at 6,600 rpm and 151 lb.-ft. peak torque at 4,800 rpm. The Toyota Corolla Hatchback performs great and has EPA-estimated MPG ratings of up to 32 city/41 highway/35 combined on the SE grade.

Standard features include Toyota Audio Multimedia with wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ compatibility, and Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 – which includes features like Lane Departure Assist and Proactive Driving Assist. New for 2026 is that Blind Spot Monitor and a wireless charger are now standard on all grades.

The 2026 Toyota Corolla Hatchback is expected to arrive at Toyota dealerships this Fall. The Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price, excluding Dealer Processing and Handling, will start at $24,180 for the SE grade.

Outstanding Driving Experience
The 2026 Corolla has a diverse model variety made possible by the TNGA-C platform. A solid structure, low center of gravity and highly refined tuning of the MacPherson strut front suspension and available multi-link rear suspension that endows Corolla models with exemplary handling agility, ride comfort and distinctive driving personality.

The Corolla Hatchback has a standard Dynamic Shift continuously variable transmission that gives a distinct performance feel thanks to a gearset used as a launch gear for start-off acceleration, before seamlessly handing off to the CVT’s pulley system. Synchronization of the increasing engine revs and vehicle speed provides a linear acceleration feel. Combined with enhanced Sport mode tuning, all trims come standard with paddle shifters to engage 10 pre-set ratios to offer a sportier driving experience.

Drivers can also customize their Corolla Hatchback’s drive feel to suit their specific tastes with NORMAL, ECO and available SPORT drive modes.

Dimensional Style
Corolla Hatchback’s bold look begins with a rounded, muscular physique accented by chiseled character lines and simple, condensed three-dimensional highlights. Combined with 16- or 18-inch wheels, the shape gives the Hatchback an active, well-planted attitude. Slim, aggressive LED headlamps wrap into the front fenders and give Corolla Hatchback a distinct expression. The LED taillamps feature a diffusing inner lens designed to highlight the Hatchback’s stout stance. The XSE features LED fog lights to the front fascia accented by chrome-finished fog bezels.

Inside, the Corolla Hatchback has a comfortable and spacious cabin with quality materials, designed with a focus on comfort. In the SE grade, there is a standard 6-way adjustable fabric driver’s seat and a 4-way adjustable front passenger seat. The XSE grade has a standard SofTex®-trimmed 8-way power-adjustable and heated front driver’s seat and a 4-way adjustable front passenger seat. The new FX Edition comes with a 10-way Sport Touring heated driver’s seat and a 4-way adjustable heated front passenger seat.

Exterior color options include Blue Crush Metallic, Inferno, Midnight Black Metallic, Classic Silver Metallic, Finish Line Red, Magnetic Gray Metallic, Wind Chill Pearl, and Ice Cap. Two-tone color combinations are also available with a Midnight Black Metallic roof.

FX Special Edition
For 2026, the Corolla Hatchback welcomes the FX Edition into the fold, igniting the spirit of the legendary FX16. This special edition blends nostalgic charm with contemporary dynamism, injecting a dose of bold athleticism into the already spirited Corolla Hatchback.

Based on the SE grade, the Corolla Hatchback FX adds a black vented sport wing for aggressive flair and improved aerodynamics. The 18-inch gloss white-finished alloy wheels with black lug nuts give an unexpected wow factor. Other stylish features include a heritage-inspired rear badge reminiscent of the original FX16 from the 80s.

Inside, the Corolla Hatchback FX showcases new black Sport Touring Seats with suede inserts and orange stitching, but the pop of color doesn’t stop there. The bright stitching continues on the door panels, steering wheel and shifter boot. The special edition comes standard with a 7-inch digital gauge cluster that shares useful vehicle information and can be customized to show different layouts based on the driver’s preference.

There will only be 1,600 Corolla Hatchback FX Editions assembled for the U.S. in 2026.

Intuitive Multimedia and Connectivity
The 2026 Corolla Hatchback comes standard with an 8-inch touchscreen equipped with the Toyota Audio Multimedia system. The Toyota Audio Multimedia system allows dual Bluetooth® phone connectivity. The 30 day/3GB Wi-Fi Connect trial* offers 4G connectivity for up to five devices, turning the car into an AT&T Hotspot, along with the ability to link customers’ separate Apple Music® and Amazon Music subscriptions to the vehicle with the Integrated Streaming* service (30-day trial included). This augments the already robust audio playback ability that includes HD Radio, USB data and a SiriusXM® 3-month trial subscription.

The Corolla Hatchback audio system includes six speakers standard. The XSE grade kicks it up a notch with the available JBL® Premium Audio system with eight speakers, subwoofer and an 800-watt amplifier.

With an active Drive Connect* subscription, drivers can interact with the Toyota Audio Multimedia system through touch and voice activation. With Intelligent Assistant available through Drive Connect, simple phrases like “Hey Toyota” awakens the system for voice-activated commands to search for directions, find Points of Interest (POI), adjust audio controls, change the cabin temperatures and more. Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert is now standard across the line up. It is designed to help detect and warn you of vehicles approaching or positioned in the adjacent lanes and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert adds peace of mind by helping to detect vehicles approaching from either side while backing out and alerting you with a visual and audible warning.

Toyota Corolla Hatchback comes standard with Toyota Safety Sense 3.0. The suite includes:

• Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection: Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection (PCS w/PD) is designed to help detect a vehicle, pedestrian, bicyclist, or motorcyclist and provide an audible/visual forward-collision warning under certain circumstances. If you don’t react, the system is designed to provide automatic emergency braking.
• Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control: Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC) is an adaptive cruise control system that is designed to be set at speeds above 20 mph. DRCC uses vehicle-to-vehicle distance control to help maintain a preset distance from the vehicle ahead of you.
• Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist: Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist (LDA w/SA) detects lane markings or the road’s edge at speeds above 30 mph. LDA w/SA is designed to provide an audible/visual warning if an inadvertent lane departure is detected. If no corrective action is taken, Steering Assist is designed to provide gentle corrective steering for lane-keeping assistance.
• Lane Tracing Assist: Lane Tracing Assist (LTA) is designed to help keep the vehicle in the center of a lane. LTA assists the driver with steering control while DRCC is in use.
• Road Sign Assist: Road Sign Assist (RSA) uses the forward-facing camera to recognize specific road signs, such as speed limit, stop, and yield signs. RSA provides sign information to the driver via the Multi-Information Display.
• Automatic High Beams: Automatic High Beams (AHB) is designed to detect headlights of oncoming vehicles and taillights of preceding vehicles. AHB automatically toggles between high and low beams as appropriate.
• Proactive Driving Assist: Proactive Driving Assist (PDA) uses the vehicle’s camera and radar, when system operating conditions are met, to provide gentle braking and/or steering to support driving tasks such as distance control between your vehicle and a preceding vehicle, pedestrian, or bicyclist. PDA can also provide gentle braking into curves.

Limited Warranty and ToyotaCare
Toyota’s 36-month/36,000 mile basic new-vehicle warranty applies to all components other than normal wear and maintenance items. Additional 60-month warranties cover the powertrain for 60,000 miles and corrosion with no mileage limitation. The Corolla also comes standard with ToyotaCare, a maintenance plan that covers normal factory-scheduled service for two years or 25,000 miles, whichever comes first, and 24-hour roadside assistance for two years, unlimited mileage.
