- The 2026 Toyota bZ, previously known as the bZ4X, is here.
- It starts from $36,350, which is $2,170 more affordable than the previous model year.
- However, only the entry-level trim gets a price cut. All the other trims are more expensive, but they also offer a lot more range than before.
The much-improved 2026 Toyota bZ has officially landed in the United States with a starting price of $36,350 (including destination) for the entry-level XLE FWD trim, which has an estimated range of 236 miles on a full charge. That’s $2,170 less than the 2025 bZ4X’s base trim, which could go 252 miles with a full battery.
As you can see, both the price and the range estimate have gone down for the entry-level version. That’s because for the 2026 model year, the bZ now comes with a 57.5-kilowatt-hour battery for the base trim, while the outgoing model was equipped with a 71.4 kWh pack for the base FWD variant. The power output of this version has also gone down from last year, with the single motor sending 168 horsepower to the front wheels, whereas the 2025 bZ4X FWD had 201 hp. Photo by: Toyota
For all the other trims, though, the 2026 bZ has a larger 74.7 kWh battery–up from the 72.8 kWh of the 2025 model–which leads to some impressive range gains. Now, the bZ XLE FWD Plus offers 314 miles of range for $39,350–that’s $830 more than the outgoing model, but it offers an extra 62 miles of range on a full charge. The power output is also higher on the single-motor versions of the 2026 bZ with the bigger battery, with 221 hp going to the front wheels.
Moving up the ladder, there’s the XLE AWD, which goes for $41,350, $750 more than before. It comes with two electric motors that have a combined output of 338 hp–124 more than the previous model year– while the range is estimated at 288 miles, 60 more than before. More Toyota EV Stuff
The most expensive front-wheel drive bZ is the Limited FWD, which offers 299 miles of range–63 more than the previous model–and costs $44,750, an increase of $1,500 over the outgoing model.
The top trim is the Limited AWD. It has an MSRP of $46,750, which is $1,420 more than before, but its driving range has been boosted by 56 miles to 278 miles.
Compared to the previous model year, the 2026 Toyota bZ is now a proper electric crossover, with decent range and power, so the moderate price increases are more than worth it for Toyota’s mass-market EV. That said, the maximum DC charging speed of 150 kilowatts is the same as before, which isn’t ideal in a world where a lot of new EVs can crack 300 kW.

Still, the AC charging speed has been upped from 7.4 kW to 11 kW, so home charging will be faster if there’s a powerful enough charger available. What’s more, the 2026 bZ now comes from the factory with a Tesla-style NACS charging port, which means owners will no longer need a charging adapter when using Tesla Superchargers or other NACS-equipped DC fast chargers. Meanwhile, an NACS to CCS adapter will be required for stations that only have CCS cables.
All 2026 Toyota bZ trims come standard with LED daytime running lights and LED taillights, dual-zone automatic climate control, digital key compatibility, eight airbags, automatic braking, a 14-inch infotainment touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and Toyota’s Safety Sense 3.0 driver assistance suite.
