ZF Commercial Vehicle Control Systems India Ltd secured a new business nomination from a domestic commercial vehicle manufacturer to develop an Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) suite for a bus platform, the company said in a regulatory disclosure on Tuesday. The system will combine camera- and radar-based technologies with braking and stability controls to enable a range of safety features, including autonomous emergency braking, lane departure warning and driver drowsiness alerts. It will also include blind-spot monitoring and moving-off information systems aimed at improving safety for vulnerable road users.According to the filing, the ADAS package is designed to meet India’s GSR 184(E) safety norms. It has been validated through over 450,000 km of testing under local road conditions, with certification from the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI).

“With a legacy of deep customer understanding and proven technological competence that make commercial transportation safer, smarter and more efficient, we also offer ADAS solutions that fit the specific driving conditions in India, backed by our global expertise,” said Paramjit Singh Chadha, Managing Director, ZF Commercial Vehicle Control Systems India Limited.

The development comes amid growing regulatory focus on vehicle safety and increasing adoption of driver assistance technologies in India’s commercial vehicle segment.
