Williams have revealed their third livery change for the 2025 season which they will use at this weekend’s Brazilian Grand Prix.
The team will run a special design in honour of sponsor Gulf, as they previously did in 2023 at the Singapore, Japanese and Qatar grands prix.
Williams’ latest design incorporates words which were chosen in an online poll which attracted over 140,000 votes. The most popular choice, with 7,700 votes, was “legacy”.
“This incredible livery campaign with Gulf has really brought that to life,” said team principal James Vowles, “and it will be a privilege to race every lap in Brazil with the passion and emotion of our fans woven into this beautiful design on the car.”
Gulf’s racing colours were made famous by Porsche in sportscar racing. However they have been applied to F1 cars for one-off events three times in the last five years. McLaren, which was previously sponsored by the petrochemicals brand, first used their colours at the Monaco Grand Prix in 2021.
Williams altered its livery on two previous occasions this year. It ran a retro 2002-style design at the United States Grand Prix earlier this month and made a more subtle change at the British Grand Prix.
