Volvo Car India, ChargeZone open ultra-fast EV charging station on Mumbai–Nashik Highway

Volvo Car India and ChargeZone on Thursday inaugurated a 360 kW ultra-fast electric vehicle charging station on the Mumbai–Nashik Highway, marking a significant step in their plan to build a premium nationwide supercharging network.

Located at Food Hills near Igatpuri, the station features a 360 kW Star Charge power unit equipped with two dynamic load balancing dispensers. The configuration is designed to optimise power distribution, reduce waiting times and enable faster real-world charging for Volvo customers as well as other EV users.

Strategically positioned along one of Maharashtra’s busiest intercity corridors, the hub includes dedicated charging bays for Volvo EVs and offers app-based access for navigation and digital payments. Jyoti Malhotra, Managing Director of Volvo Car India, said the collaboration reflects the company’s commitment to sustainable mobility and ensuring dependable charging access for its customers. She described the 360 kW station as the first step towards delivering a world-class charging experience across India.Kartikey Hariyani, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of ChargeZone, said the co-branded station represents an important milestone in building a future-ready, high-speed charging network. He added that intelligent features such as dynamic power loading are aimed at improving user experience and making long-distance EV travel faster and more predictable.The installation follows a Memorandum of Understanding signed in 2025 between the two companies to expand high-speed EV charging across key national highways. Additional charging stations are planned in 2026 as part of the rollout.

ChargeZone, headquartered in Vadodara, operates over 13,500 charging points across more than 1,200 locations in India and the UAE. The company has outlined plans to scale up to one million charging points in the coming years.
