Two and three-wheeler maker TVS Motor Company on Wednesday said that it has reached a production milestone of one million vehicles at its Indonesia facility since operations began in 2006, marking 19 years of manufacturing presence in the country.
According to a regulatory filing, around 95 per cent of the total output comprises two-wheelers, while the remaining 5 per cent consists of three-wheelers. The production milestone was achieved at the company’s plant in Karawang.
“A significant portion of the one million vehicles produced in Indonesia has been exported to key international markets across ASEAN, South Asia, the Middle East, South America, and Africa,” James Chan, Senior Vice President, ASEAN Business.At present, TVS Motor Company operates 49 dealerships in Indonesia located in strategic regions across Java, Bali, Lombok, Sumatra, Kalimantan, and Sulawesi.The company reported a 49 per cent year-on-year jump in consolidated net profit for the December quarter at ₹841 crore, compared with ₹566 crore in the year-ago period.
