Toyota Recalls Certain MY2021-2024 Toyota Highlander Vehicles – Toyota USA Newsroom

PLANO, Texas (March 5, 2026) — Toyota is conducting a safety recall involving certain model year 2021-2024 Highlander and Highlander Hybrid vehicles. Approximately 550,000 vehicles are involved in this recall in the U.S.

The recliner assemblies in the second-row seats may not fully lock after seat back adjustment. A seat back that has not been secured in a locked position may fail to properly restrain occupants, increasing the risk of injury in the event of a crash at higher speeds.

Toyota is currently preparing the remedy. When available, Toyota dealers will replace the return springs in the recliner assemblies with improved ones, at no cost.

Owners of involved vehicles will be notified by early May 2026.

Information about automotive recalls, including but not limited to the list of involved vehicles, is current as of today’s filing date and is subject to change thereafter. To see if your vehicle is involved in a safety recall visit Toyota.com/recall or nhtsa.gov/recalls and enter your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) or license plate information.

For any additional questions, Toyota customer support is also available by calling the Toyota Brand Engagement Center (1-800-331-4331).
