- Zeekr wants to woo European EV buyers away from crossovers with a feature-packed wagon coming this summer.
- The 7GT has powered automatic doors, air suspension, a huge head-up display and performance to pin you to your seat.
- Considering it comes from Geely’s most luxurious brand and all it can do, the asking price seems more than reasonable.
My most eagerly anticipated EV of 2026 is the Zeekr 7GT, which will debut here in Europe in July. When I covered its debut, I said it raises the bar for all EVs available here, noting that it has the highest charging power on the continent, with an impressive 480-kilowatt rating and 10-80% charging in 13 minutes.
However, this car is not defined solely by its specs, as Electrifying found after spending some time looking around a 7GT at its launch in Belgium. The first thing that makes the 7GT special is its body style. There are a handful of electric wagons available in Europe, but they are still pretty rare and the premium-badged ones are pretty expensive.
Zeekr is the Geely group’s most luxurious brand, so it’s targeting buyers who typically purchase BNWs and Mercedes-Benz cars. The 7GT has one feature that you don’t find on any European offering in the midsize segment: all four doors are powered and open automatically. Having tried them on the 7X crossover after previously experiencing them on a BMW i7, where they were far from perfect, I was really impressed by how well they worked on the Zeekr.
They seem to work just as well on the wagon, and they are not only a fancy touch, but they have practical applications, too. The video’s host, Nicky Shields, notes that it makes dropping kids off at school quicker and easier and you don’t have to get out of the driver’s seat to go around the vehicle and open the door for them.
The automatic doors are only available on the top-spec Privilege model, which costs €58,490 (delivery fee included), but it also comes with a lot of other luxury options. One of them is air suspension with adjustable ride height, a feature that is not present in any midsize premium car, electric or otherwise. It also has a 35-inch augmented reality head-up display, Nappa leather upholstery, a premium audio system and a full-length panoramic glass roof
It can accelerate from 0-62 mph (100 km/h) in 3.3 seconds thanks to its 636-horsepower dual-motor, all-wheel drive configuration. The manufacturer promises that it’s also great through the corners, saying it’s a real driver’s car in the official press material. The car promises precise steering and a well-controlled chassis, which, together with its straight-line performance, should make it one of the most fun-to-drive electric wagons available at any price.
Zeekr also uploaded its own lengthy and in-depth video on the 7GT, highlighting some of its most important features with input from the people who created them.
