Tampa Bay Woman Picks Up Her Tesla. Then She Reveals What That Process Actually Looks Like

A Florida woman goes to pick up her 2023 Tesla Model 3 and brings viewers along on the electric vehicle buying ride.

Paris (@parispollinaa) posted a TikTok about the Tesla buying process earlier this week. She starts the video with a clip of the outside of the Tesla showroom in Tampa Bay.  “OK, guys, it’s officially time to go pick up my Tesla,” she says. “I was feeling both a little bit of excitement and a little bit of nerves, but this is the cutest thing.”

She felt another rush of nerves when she saw the bow on the hood and her name on a placard set on the dashboard. “I don’t know how to explain that,” she says. “But it’s so pretty. I’m so happy that I went with the color that I went with.”

The Tesla Car Buying Process

Paris revealed that she and a group of five other buyers went to the back of the showroom together to pick up their Teslas. The vehicles, parked all in a line, lit up in a coordinated headlight show in celebration.

“It was honestly really weird,” she says. “I don’t know why they do a light show. I think it’s cool that they can do that with the cars, but it was kind of awkward. We were all just kind of standing there. Like are we supposed to be videotaping this? What are we supposed to be doing? We were all just ready to get in our cars and leave.”

Her boyfriend did enjoy making fun of the light show, saying that the Teslas looked like rogue robots that could attack any minute. Luckily, no one was harmed during the performance.

Once she finally got the keys, Paris was pleased with the white interior. “I was really nervous that it was going to be cheap looking, but you guys, it’s beautiful. I really am worried that I’m going to make it dirty, so we’re going to try not to do that.”

To conclude the video, she says, “They gave me a cute little note, and I’m just really excited. I think it all turned out perfect. And I love her. Moving on from a 2009 Nissan Altima to this just feels great.”

Viewers React To The Tesla Car Buying Process

In the comments, viewers complimented Paris on her purchase and commented on the Tesla buying process.

“Just got my new 2025 Tesla Model 3 also with white interior and love her,” wrote one person. “Got floor mats, screen protector, and wheel cover protector. Yes, I am truly obsessed with keeping her clean. Congrats!”

A second person said, “Congrats! Got a Model Y in 2024 and then picked up a 2025 AWD Cybertruck!”

Someone else asked, “2023 new?” Paris explained, “No, it’s used. I ordered it through the used Tesla inventory!”

What Is Used Tesla Inventory?

Tesla offers a look at its inventory in a database on its website, where you can search through new and pre-owned Teslas filtering by model, payment type, trim level, mileage and year, as well as a slew of other specifications and add-ons.

Of course, some states, including Texas, ban direct-to-consumer auto sales and instead require sales to go through a dealership. That doesn’t mean Texans and residents of states with similar bans can’t buy Teslas, but they have to finalize the sale in a state where direct-to-consumer sales are legal. In Florida, the law makes an exception for EV brands Tesla, Rivian, Polestar, and Lucid.

InsideEVs contacted Paris via TikTok comment and direct message for comment.
